History
Bell Tower Salon Spa has a rich history that began in a historic Victorian mansion on North Fifth Street in downtown Reading. Carolyn Helms, the current owner and president, acquired the business in 1988. Carolyn's illustrious career in the beauty industry started after graduating from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. She modeled in New York City and Miami, where she discovered her passion for hair and makeup, often assisting behind the scenes. Her encounter with Oribe Canales marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey, including her role as a founding partner in the Oribe brand and as part of the editorial team at Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks.
Carolyn's vision led her back to Pennsylvania, where she founded a small salon on Penn Street at the age of twenty-two. The rapid growth of this salon necessitated the acquisition of the Bell Tower, a spacious Victorian mansion that perfectly aligned with her aspirations. Under her guidance, the Bell Tower evolved into a modern facility with a private day spa offering facials, nail and foot care, and massages.
In 1999, Bell Tower moved to its current location, a meticulously renovated 8,000 sq. ft. building originally constructed as horse stables. This unique renovation, which took over a year and cost more than one million dollars, preserved the building's original character while transforming it into a state-of-the-art beauty and wellness center. The facility has been featured in numerous national and international trade, fashion, and design publications.
Today, Bell Tower Salon Spa employs over 50 professionals and stands out as a leader in the industry, recognized by Salon Today's "Salon of the Year," Modern Salon, and Elle Magazine's Top Ten Color Salon on the East Coast, among other accolades.

Bell Tower Policy
At Bell Tower Salon Spa, we are committed to your satisfaction and offer a dedicated guarantee should you feel dissatisfied with your experience. To qualify, please notify us within five (5) days for spa services or seven (7) days for salon services. Once contacted, our management team will review your feedback and respond within 24 to 48 hours.
Please note that this guarantee does not cover "change of heart" situations where a specific hairstyle or color was requested and executed as discussed. In these instances, a simple change of mind does not qualify for a redo. Our goal is to blend our expert artistry with your vision for a result you love.
