Looking Chic for the 4th of July
Posted on July 2, 2015 by Bell Tower
July 4th is almost here, which means it's time to start figuring out what to wear to celebrate Independence Day. Whether you're spending the day near the water or watching the fireworks, we're here to help!
For starters, rely on staple summer silhouettes — from crop tops to tanks and high-waisted shorts, there’s an option for every occasion. If you’re heading to a beach or BBQ, be sure to pack a jacket or lightweight sweater for when the sun goes down — layering is key to achieving a fashionable summer outfit.
If you’re heading out to a more formal affair, we love the idea of rocking a gingham midi skirt and wedges. Not only is gingham the print of summer 2015, but it also has an effortless patriotic vibe that isn’t too obvious. A gingham midi would look amazing with a crop top or a tank and can also be dressed up or down — after the holiday weekend you can wear it to work!
Just because it’s the Fourth of July that doesn’t mean your apparel is required to include all of the colors of the flag. Opt for a subtly patriotic outfit that incorporates only two of the hues, like this classic blue and white ensemble with a wide brimmed hat to protect yourself from the sun and the ever rising heat.
